Bess Davis is the Associate Director of Undergraduate Studies in the Political Science Department at the University of Pennsylvania. Her research interests include international migration, political institutions, and sub-national migration politics. Her doctoral research explored the relationship between democratic transitions and migration and refugee policy, both in Tunisia and in cross-national comparative perspective. She has taught undergraduate courses on globalization, comparative politics, and the research process. She holds an MA in Migration Studies from the University of Sussex and a PhD in Political Science from Syracuse University.
Dr. Davis runs the Political Science Honors Program and teaches the PSCI 4997 Honors Thesis Seminar every fall. She works as the undergraduate advisor to all Political Science majors as well as minors in Political Science, American Public Policy, and International Development. She also serves as advisor to Penn’s Beta Tau branch of the Pi Sigma Alpha National Political Science Honor Society.
